D.C Trip for January 6, 2025 Electoral Vote Count Cancelled

The long awaited trip by New California State Delegates to Washington DC was cancelled due to possible terrorist threats anticipated by capitol Security officials.

New California learned of the cancellation on Friday January 3, 2025 when making a request for seats in the U.S. Senate to witness the historic Electoral College voting for President Trump. Delegates were made aware via Senator Alex Padillia's staff at the time the requests were made following the selection of House of Representative Mike Johnson to the Speakers position.

The Padillia staffer was fulfilling the request when she was approached by another office staffer with a security alert which stated the public seating for both houses would be closed to all people except Senators and members of the House.
