Agnes Gibboney in Rancho Cucamonga lost her only son in 2002 to a previously deported Mexican illegal alien. Agnes is a legal immigrant from Hungary. Here is her story:

My only son Ronald da Silva was murdered on April 27, 2002 by Luis Gonzales, an illegal alien from Mexico who had been previously deported. My son was talking to a friend when he was shot in public in El Monte, where my husband was the Deputy Police Chief. The illegal alien intended to shoot Ronald's friend, but the bullet struck my son on the shoulder, then traveled across his chest, severing a main artery. He died 3 1/2 hours later from the blood loss.

The devastation did not end there, as my only brother Lazslo died 4 months later when he suffered a major stroke from the overwhelming loss from Ronald's murder.

Gonzalez was charged with 1st or 2nd degree murder, but Judge Horan kept insisting he take a plea deal. After the third time, Gonzalez took a plea of Voluntary Manslaughter and got the maximum 11 years, plus 10 years for the use of a firearm. He needs to serve 85% of that time. He is currently in prison in Stockton in the hospital ward, probably pretending he's crazy, like he did twice during the court proceedings. He is scheduled to be released in November 2020.
